And while natural fabrics may be the grass fed tallow of clothing, there are two things they don’t do well— stretch and dry fast.
While tanning au naturel might work some of the time, a healthy sun enthusiast needs a natural swimsuit to match.
Since we couldn't bear the thought of beautiful seed oil-free skin sitting in plastic all summer long, we decided to take matters into our own hands. And like the chips we’re famous for, we had to do so without compromise.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Pepper Vally, one of the most innovative textile shops in Europe, to bring you the first completely natural fabric swimsuit.
Their proprietary method of weaving pure cotton threads makes fabric that is stretchy, durable, and fast drying. It also maintains its shape (unlike knit swimwear), giving you everything you want in a swimsuit, and nothing you don’t:
✅ Stretchy, durable, and fast drying
✅ Made from 100% OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 cotton
✅ Actually looks good
If you’ve been searching for a natural fabric swimsuit, look no further— you don’t have to wear toxic plastic swimwear while soaking up the sun this summer!
We call our swimsuits 100% cotton—and we stand by it. But unlike other brands, we believe in being upfront about what that actually means.
According to U.S. law, a product labeled 100% cotton can include small amounts of non-cotton components, typically in trims and structural elements (think a plastic button in a denim jacket).
While the legal limit is up to 3% in the US, our swimsuits contain no more than 1.8% non-cotton materials total, which include natural rubber (which comes from trees) for structure throughout the main fabric, and a small amount of elastane (which is synthetic) in the elastic bands around the arm/leg holes—never in the main fabric.
These elastic bands are fully wrapped in cotton and never touch your skin, and are only necessary since natural rubber is sadly not durable enough to keep the shape of the edges intact after repeated use. But unlike most brands, where exposed elastic touches your skin (think the elastic waistband in men’s boxers), ours is fully wrapped in the cotton weave, meaning only cotton ever comes in contact with your body.
Other brands won’t tell you this. We will—because transparency matters.
